LOCATION AND HISTORY OF CLUB

Perth is situated in the state of Western Australia.

Our Club was Chartered in 1962 - We were the first Western Australian Club and our formation introduced the Lions Movement to our State.

This beginning has expanded to two districts encompassing 138 clubs to date

We have undertaken many projects during our 44 years in operation but the one that stands out and is of most pride to us is that we started testing the public for the eye disease Glaucoma and from that project and with the support of the other Lions of Western Australia evolved the "Lions Eye Institute" . A world renown research organisation employing over 100 research scientists with many achievements assisting the sight disadvantaged of the world

We Celebrated our 40th Anniversary on Tuesday the 24th of September, 2002.

Work on the programmes/scrip used to compile Web Pages has been the work of Dr. Enzar Tore of the Canakkale Lions Club, Turkey.
